Samurai 7 is based on Kurosawa Akira`s famous movie, "Seven Samurai".

In the far distant future, on a planet that might have been called "earth", there was a war between samurais who mechanized their bodies. After the long war, people enjoyed a modest peace.

In those days, people in Kanna Village are suffering at the hands of the Nobuseri, who are the ruined samurais. After the war ended, they lost their purpose to fight, and they`ve been robbing the village of their crops and women. Because they don`t have any way to fight against them, they have to obey the Nobureri`s orders.

One year, before harvest season, Gisaku, a head of the village, propose that they hire samurais to protect them from the Nobuseri.

Riki, who is a young boy full of energy, Kirara and Komachi, twin priestesses, go to a town to look for samurais to help them.

It was a peaceful and calm inland, which located out-of-the-way corners of Japan. The blue sky spread as far as one can see. The blue sea also spread as far as one can see. For the boys and girls living there, another day was supposed to begin as usual.

One day, the boys and girls suddenly began to receive this message. The moment they replied “Yes”, a stream of light flashed in the blue sky. The light was so beautiful, but it is the light that brought them into the severe reality.

The enemy suddenly appeared. It was too sudden for them to accept the reality. They were at the mercy of that wave.

How should they have replied it in order to live?

A boy, Makabe Kazuki, resolved his mind to ride into Fafner in order to live, also in order to escape from the reality…

But one day, Tenma has to work on a little boy who was shot during the murder of his parents. He decides he will save the life of the boy, because he was first in line.

But then, the children disappear ... and the murders begin. Tenma, feeling both guilt and worry, goes off to investigate the case since he feels that it somehow relates to him ... and the horror begins, for both Tenma as everyone he meets in search for the children...

The story began in a classroom of a middle school. Our main character, Kyu, when called by the guidance counselor, declared that he wanted to be a detective. He took the entrance exam to Dan Detective School where talented people from the whole country gather. He passed the difficult entrance exam for the so-called "Q class" (Q = qualified), which is personally instructed by the founder and head master of the school, the legendary famous detective, Dan Morihiko. There he got to know Minami Megumi (Meg) with her photographic memory ability, Touyama Kintarou (Kinta) – the descendant of "Kin-san" from Touyama, Narusawa Kazuma (Kazuma) – a genius programmer, and Amakusa Ryu (Ryu) -- the weird Todai (Tokyo University) student. The five of them work together, as well as competing each other, heading towards graduation.
